We have a section at the end of our quiet waiting area that is specifically for rabbits (to the right as you enter through the main door).
Here you will find a divider separating from the ‘cat’ waiting area as well as offering towels to cover carriers and pet remedy spray that can be used to help keep rabbits calm while waiting for their appointment. We also have a number of interesting resources to read while you are waiting!
Alternatively, if safe to do so you are welcome to wait with your rabbit in the car and we can contact you when it is time to come into the practice for your appointment, please let our client care team know if this is preferred.
Examinations can be carried out on the floor in the case of very nervous or flighty rabbits to reduce any risk of injury and stress to these patients if needed. Please let our vets know if this is the case!
Rabbits should be brought in a suitable and safe carrier with some of their own bedding and where possible we encourage them to be brought in with a companion to reduce stress. If your rabbit is needing to stay in with us even for a day it is advised to also bring some of their normal food to encourage them to eat as regularly as possible. There is no additional cost for hospitalisation of your rabbit’s companion, and we can keep bonded pairs together while staying with us.
